Early Language Fundamentals (ELF)

NOW ENROLLING

ELF is a group treatment program created for speech and language delayed preschoolers between the ages of 3-5. This program uses a child-centered approach for speech and language acquisition.  New speech and language skills are reinforced through group activities, dramatic play and peer interaction.  Children attending the ELF program receive intensive speech/language treatment - attending 4 days/week, 2.5 hours each day.

Daily speech & language stimulation in the ELF program includes:

  • Responding to greetings and social questions

  • Acquisition of new vocabulary (expressive & receptive) related to themes, the calendar and weather

  • Attempting and practicing articulation of all English phonemes

  • Asking and answering questions

  • Making requests and providing information

  • Effective communication with peers

  • Oral motor skills

ELF sessions are limited to six children.  A Speech-Language Pathologist and an aide guide each activity, provide modeling and prompt peer interactions throughout each session.  Families are provided weekly activities for carryover of learned vocabulary and skills at home.

Morning ELF sessions are from 9:00 - 11:30 a.m., Monday - Thursday

Afternoon ELF sessions are from 1:30 - 4:00 p.m., Monday - Thursday
